There's this one scene in Chainsaw Man where Makima and Denji go on a movie date which devolves into multiple movie dates as they search for what they consider the best movie. When they finally find a great movie, Makima sits there in awed silence, overwhelmed in emotion and immersed in the majesty of it all. To have a favourite something is to have witnessed the worst, the best, the mehs. To have formulated an idea of why you like or dislike something is to have experienced it all and to come out knowing oneself more than anything else
Anyways, this is just a fancy way to introduce you to my favourite things in media !!
